The Basra guest tent
The guest tent is a project started by members of the Al-Helo family in Copenhagen with the aim of reliving Ashura as in Basra and in Iraq in general.
Free drinks and food are distributed to visitors and activities are offered every now and then.
The goal of the project is to offer a meeting place for lovers of Imam Hussain under slightly more flexible and traditional conditions, where cold and hot drinks and food can be enjoyed while talking about Ashura and mourning ceremonies and rituals.
The program starts at 6 pm with the following content:
- Quran recitation.
- Greeting prayer to Imam Hussain and his companions.
- Speech by Sayid Muntadar Al-Helo in Arabic.
- Rhythmic Iraqi mourning poetry.
Likewise, activities can be opened up that stimulate the social aspect and unity and community as a natural part of the unfolding of the event.
